We hold a communal Seder at SAMS, it was an ecological disaster, everything was disposable – tablecloths through to disposable Seder Plate. We have changed everything to re-usable items. Expensive initially but well worth it plus you don’t feel like everything could fall over. A continuing challenge is the fact that we don’t own our Shul building. We have done as much as we can, changed electricity supplier, recycle, changed light bulbs, changed the way we provide Kiddush and what we provide etc etc as filled out in the audit but we are hamstrung by our inability to alter the building. Although, we are giving some thought to a solar powered ner tamid.
